My new life in Carlton North

It is with blistered hands and a scratched leg that I write this - some 48 hours after officially moving in. The former being sustained after a few hours of flat-pack (read Ikea) hell, and the latter coming to me this morning after scaling the rear corrugated iron fence, for the second time, when the front door took it upon itself to shut me out. Hmmmm...

Luckily I am well on the way to transforming my quirky bedroom space into a creative hideaway to fuel my impending return to design school - Melbourne School of Fashion. (More on that later!)

But not without several trips around the local area, to its second hand stores, discount warehouses and, of course, its supermarkets (where I picked up the first of my herb collection). I just thank God my housemate Ben is so easy going, and has basically let me do whatever I want.

Bring on the white paint and customised desk spaces! But not before I finish this yummy prawn omelette...made with the hottest chillies on Smith Street and all the energy I could muster...
